SkydiveJack 1 #13 February 9, 2008 Quoteso did you attend the GM and it was vlosed or you mistakenly tried to attend the BOD meeting? The General Membership Meeting is a meeting where USPA members can discuss issues directly with the BOD. The regular BOD sessions are normally open to the membership except when they discuss personalities. This means things such as (but not limited to)disciplinary actions, expelling a BOD member or discussing a lawsuit.

MikeForsythe 0 #15 February 9, 2008 Quotea BOARD OF DIRCTORS meeting does not have to be openThat is not true. By the structure of the organization and the state laws that govern non-for-profit corporations, the BOD meetings may be attended by the membership with the exception of executive session. In general, executive session (only BOD may be present) is usually reserved for disciplinary action and actions of litigation. While the discussion that took place may not be made available to the membership any actions (votes) are. It should also be noted that the BOD meetings are always noticed for the membership to attend.Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is! MikeForsythe 0 #16 February 9, 2008 QuoteWhoever voted no needs shot. Then start shooting. Other than Glen's error in suppressing a valid motion and second at the begging of the meeting, they are by what has been printed here acting within the scope of the laws that governs them. Just because some members were unaware that they could go into executive session does not make it wrong.Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
