omerimsky 0 #1 March 24, 2006 may somebody give me information about the microline testing? i need to know when they should be replaced or is there an exact flying number that determines their testing time? if you have any documents relating to microline testing i would be really happy to receive them.. thank you! ömer aydin
MrHixxx 0 #2 March 24, 2006 Simple, get a line chart for the canopy in question and check the trim. Microline will shrink out of trim long before it breaks. Typically it is replaced when the canopy starts opening poorly or flying flaring poorly, because it is so far out of trim... -Hixxx
teason 0 #3 March 24, 2006 Compare the length of the outboard vs. inboard lines. The outboard lines shrink faster than the inboard. The greater the difference, the more out of trim the canopy is. Use a trim chart and the manufacturer's instructions for checking the trim. Many canopies today have various line lengths across the canopy. teason 0 #5 March 26, 2006 ooops, my bad. I was just looking at a Sabre 1 in the shop and had Sabre on the brain. The test definately wouldn't work for a Stilletto!I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
