Zenister 0 #1 February 10, 2008 pretty much ruin the pacing and tone of a movie.. just watching Out of Sight.. (amazingly enough a good movie with J-LO) original "situations like this there is a high potentiality for the common mother fucker to bitch out" TV overdub "situations like this there is a high potentiality for the common monkey feather to back out" not only completely breaks any verisimilitude, but reduces the entire movie to a complete joke.. if you've seen the original you will realize they pretty much had to bastardize multiple scenes (simply for language) to make this 'safe' for TV, and to be perfectly honest what kid over the age of 8 isnt going to be able to figure out what is actually being said...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Muenkel 0 #2 February 10, 2008 There is a place for everything. If you want to view the movie uncut, you can rent the dvd, watch it on PPV or on one of the premium movie channels. I am glad we are given the choices. _________________________________________ Chris
Zenister 0 #3 February 10, 2008 the entire point is the story and characters, when TV edits destroy the character themselves the story becomes meaningless drivel. Imagine if someone were to do the same ridiculous 'cultural edits' to any number of great stories of the past (including many dear to your heart) would the intent (and the lessons contained therein) remain intact? i seriously doubt it... go find a version of King Lear with the happy ending.. or watch the 'love conquers all' version of Brazil... what you describe as 'choice' is the destruction of meaning and authorial intent.____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. I dont give a toss what the author or director intendedYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
