DSE 5 #26 February 10, 2008 A couple hundred. But on my website, there are only a few. As far as a flute maker, I recommend The Oregon Flute Store They deal in every major maker of flutes, and nothing they have is poor quality. Easily the best out there. Misternatural 0 #27 February 10, 2008 check out Lauzon Bezed in Ontario I got a nice rosewood native flute in G from him and it is awesome, its got a really haunting hollow tone. And the workmanship is amazing.Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. D S #3.1415
grannyinthesky 0 #28 February 10, 2008 Miy favorite instrument is the saxophone. I love the rich tones and the emotionas you can express with the vibrato. I started playing again about 5 years ago after a lapse of 30+ years, and I discovered it was my favorite instrument. In high school I had switched to clarinet because the music was more challenging. I am currently playing lead alto in our college jazz band and love the feel when the band is playing well."safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! SarahC07 0 #29 February 10, 2008 What I don't understand is how 3 people voted for clarinet. It is not exactly a pleasant instrument to listen to - even when played well. The French Horn, on the other hand, is such a beautiful instrument, and they often get the coolest lines in orchestral peices.
tbrown 26 #30 February 10, 2008 My daughter plays both the clarinet and the bassoon in her college band and orchestra. I even tried the bassoon briefly myself when I was in jr high and only wish I'd stuck with it, especially when I hear how well my kid plays it. By the way, you left out the oboe, another beautiful double reed. But for jazz and rockin', nothing beats the saxophone. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity ! shermanator 4 #31 February 10, 2008 As I said in my first post, I left out some, becuase they can fit in certain classes, as the others, i didn't want to make a poll with 60+ differnt instruments.CLICK HERE! new blog posted 9/21/08 CSA #

Zenister 0 #35 February 11, 2008 oh yea.. forgot about my favorite in the trumpet family.. the Flugelhorn much 'softer smoother sound' than the straight (unmuted) trumpet.____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Unstable 9 #36 February 11, 2008 Bassoon. My dad did his degree in bassoon performance, and he even played in the Utah State Symphony for years before joining the Army and going back to School. I grew up with him teaching bassoon students in our house for years, and I knew that when I came home, the TV couldn't be turned on til 7:00 or until the last student left. I just like the sound of it...=========Shaun ==========
Frenchy68 0 #37 February 11, 2008 I voted saxophone, with clarinet a close second. I've been playing the latter since I'm 9 years old, then switched to the former at the age of 16. I don't ply much anymore, but sure love to hear pieces with either instruments featured.
