Twoply 0 #1 February 14, 2008 Anybody else use a trackball instead of a regular mouse? I have been using one for years now and I absolutely cannot stand to useuse a regular mouse anymore.

DSE 5 #4 February 14, 2008 We exclusively use large Kensington trackballs on all our editing systems. We replace the ball that comes with the Kensington with a billiard ball. My personal choice is the 8 ball. Not only does it allow for very tight precision and speed in a small/fixed area, it also greatly reduces risk of carpal tunnel. We have at least 50 Kensington Expert Mouse Pro's, I get a little frustrated when I'm traveling with my laptop and don't have my trackball.

I love it! (Now why the hell did they name a trackball a "mouse?). The greatest thing is how by just flicking the ball, then lifting my fingers, I can use the momentum of the ball to shoot across the screen, then touch it to stop where I want it. I carry a Logitech Trackman Wheel with my laptop. I am firmly convinced the mouse was invented by accident when some idiot in the factory read the blueprints for a trackball upside down."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Won't EVER go back.
jcd11235 0 #9 February 14, 2008 In order of preference for me: Trackpad Trackball Mouse I hate being stuck at a desktop without having my trackpad, but a trackball is a close second. It's just too far from the keyboard, so it slows down my work flow.Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
wmw999 2,590 #10 February 14, 2008 Me, I hate the trackpad. Rather use a mouse. At home on the laptop I use the stick, and it's OK. Moving the mouse around is kind of like exercise Wendy W. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. Rick 67 #12 February 14, 2008 I love the trackball. I do a lot of engineering drawings and mecahincal drawings for our sign company and the track ball is easier for me to use than a standard mouse. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!
