My wife's VD experience this morning

Recommended Posts

She had to get up insanely early, like 5 am. She had a client that she has tried twice before to catch at the client's workplace (3rd shift) and at the client's home to no avail. Well, she was hoping the third time would be the charm. She arrived at the workplace but the client had gone home early, again! So she drove to the home, had her notes written up before knocking on the door (she noticed the front door was open and the storm door latched) because the client's family are hearing.

So, the client's younger sister answered the door and told my wife her sister was sleeping. My wife told her she'd come back later that afternoon. No problem... Goes back to our truck and finds herself locked out! Keys and pager inside! After a short profanity-laced tirade, she walked the 1/2 mile to the police station for help (client's family have no phone).

After 30 minutes, an officer from our hometown (next town over) shows up to help. He took her back to the truck, popped the lock with the newfangled tool and she was on her way back to her office.

Along the way on the highway she noticed what looked like maybe a bird flying out of the truck bed. She was a bit confused at that but thought nothing of it, until she arrived at work, then couldn't find the client's paperwork, which had the client's private info on it, like the SSN, etc... Yep, you guessed it, she left it in the truck bed during the tirade over the lock out and forgot it.

Boy did she really think about quitting this lousy job, then she noticed the gift box that I laid next to her purse this morning which she took along. She was really mad at the time. Opening the box to find a nice Fossil watch and a sterling silver locket necklace inside, really made her day and melted her heart.

Everything can go wrong for you at any time, but there's a silver lining in it somewhere if you know where to look. ;)

What a sweet gesture! Not only did you do some very nice things for her, you obviously planned ahead. VERY impressive! ;)

I had absolutely no idea what a rotten morning she was going to have. I guess she forgot to drink her coffee. :D I put the gifts by her purse because I wasn't going to get up with her that early in the morning and give it to her. :P

She did pick the right time to open it though. :)
