mamajumps 0 #1 February 14, 2008 I am usually one of the last ones to help the people who are begging on the streets ( I used to be much softer hearted about this, but had a real bad experience once) anyway, for the past 3 weeks or so there has been a man standing at the stop light at the exit ramp where I get off the interstate. He has had the same outfit on for the entire time, so Im guessing he is geniunely down on his luck. Anyway 2 days ago I gave him a couple of dollars and asked him if he would like a warm coat. He told me yes so I brought them today on my way to work. He was so appreciative and put them both on right there (it was in the low 30's this morning). It made me cry, just seeing how much I made his day better. Dunno what it is about this man, but my heart really goes out to him. He is probably in his mid-60's or so... but just seems like a nice man. We have tons of homeless around this town, and he is new, never seen him before the past few weeks...
