jtval 0 #1 November 27, 2003 this is pretty interesting. oif course the person would have to have your phone number to start but Check this out Google has implemented a new feature wherein you can type someone's telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and then you will be given a map to their house. Before forwarding this, I tested it by typing my telephone number in google.com. My phone number came up, and when I clicked on the MapQuest link, it actually mapped out where I live. Quite scary. Please look up your own number. Read below for details. Think about it-if a child, single person, ANYONE gives out his/her phone number, someone can actually now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and alarming. This is not a hoax; MapQuest will put a star on your house on your street. In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to: http://www.google.com/ Type your phone number in the search bar (i.e. 555-555-1212) and hit enter. If you want to BLOCK Google from divulging your private information, simply click on the telephone icon next to your phone number. I removed my name, but it takes 48-hours. If you are unlisted in the phone book, you might not be in there, but it is a good idea just to check. Please forward on to friends and family. My photos My Videos

Muenkel 0 #4 November 27, 2003 None of the numbers at my house came up. Even if they did, if you were to drive down my street, the best you would find is the entrance to the driveway as the house is not visible from the road. _________________________________________ Chris
freeflir29 0 #5 November 27, 2003 Didn't work for my numbers cause they are "unlisted." However, my parents number, which they have had since before I was born, WAS there. Mapquest link and all. It was all correct too. I removed it for them.

Probably because we're Canadian. I have my name and phone number listed in our phone directory here but NOT my address. I did discover that if you search for my phone number at canada411.com it does give out my address. I'm pretty ticked about that. 'Shell'Shell

bendywendy 0 #12 November 27, 2003 everything about everyone can be found somewhere on the internet. Unless you are illegal and don't exist on paper - it's out there for someone to find. If you want to find it even quicker - pay someone else to search for it. If someone wants to find you - they will - why worry about it?

No I meant that your cell is obviously registered in your name and under your address, so would you be able to get someone's address from their cell number too??
