tube9999 0 #3 March 19, 2006 Sorry my mistake. Was looking at getting the new.Altitrack, not Altimaster. Not sure where they came from! Just wondered if anyone had any experience with the jump track software with Apple computers.
kelpdiver 2 #4 March 19, 2006 alti-track hasn't shipped yet. But I believe it was just using a newer version of the software used with the Protrack, so you might be able to get a sense of how well it should work.
LouDiamond 1 #5 March 20, 2006 If memory serves me correctly the software does not support Macs, to include the new version."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
MB38 0 #6 March 20, 2006 Does it use Paralog like the Neptune?I really don't know what I'm talking about.
LouDiamond 1 #7 March 20, 2006 QuoteDoes it use Paralog like the Neptune? No, I believe he is asking about L&B's Jump track 3.0 which uses a similar looking interface as Paralog but you now have to buy/use an item called USB trac to downlaod your data from the altimeter. I'm not sure on the price but I believe its still in the $110+ dollar range and DOESN'T support Mac."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
kelpdiver 2 #8 March 20, 2006 $110 on top of pro-track? there's a way to kill a product. If true, I might not wait any longer for this thing to come along.
LouDiamond 1 #9 March 20, 2006 Quote$110 on top of pro-track? Check out their website for the specifics on jump track 3.0. I seem to remember $110 being the price I saw.I agree, with that price tag, I doubt it will find many followers when there are far better and less expensive options out there that support multiple OS's"It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
kelpdiver 2 #10 March 20, 2006 I read your lines as $110 for the USB module alone, but if the new version of jump track itself is that high, that makes it 410 for a altitrack to match the neptune at around 300. (though I might need to get an irda/usb converter.) I've been intending to replace my alti-3 with this item, but I guess I don't really need an asymtric 18k gauge that much. I had been waffling on a simple dytter versus a neptune as an audible as well. Maybe this will settle both questions.
