Naturally I assumed you must not be American. Now that I see that you are, it's especially hilarious. :D

He's good always did his best for us. Stressed to the max, but you know nothing other than a typical disfunctional american family.

Mmm hmmm. Mmmm hmmm.

How much time did he spend with you?

you know really the details of my life are really quite inconsenquential... My mother was a 15 y/o french prostitute named Chloe who would rituraulistically shave my testicals. A shorn scrotum is quite breathtaking actually

I feel for you. My pseudo adopted mom has a list of things for me to do every time I visit. She is a widow, so I take care of the "honey do" list. At the top each time is to reprogram the stored channels in the TV. Her cable company is always changing which station is on which channel. She is a very smart woman but absolutely hates dealing with "tech stuff". I never complain because it is such a tiny thing to do to repay for all she has done for me.(not to make you feel guilty or anything):):P

Don't get me started -

I have a Mom and a Grandmother that SWEAR that they know how to fix it.:|

My mom, "Bless her heart" through a hissy when I started changing a setting on her IE . . . she had everything in her computer shared.:|

She didn't quite get it that I knew what I was doing - so I took the thing apart . . . and left it there for a day - all the pieces - and an empty box. . . Then I showed her how to put it together again and explained everything as I went.

I do not have that problem with her anymore.

I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

I just had to talk to my mom for ten minutes to tell her how to turn on the DVD player and my TV yet again. How many times must I tell her? GRRR...

"Again"

I bought my dad a new tv set a while back.

In 2007, I took all his old 35mm slides and had then scanned onto CD. Mainly for the purposes of trying to preserve them, but also so that he could look at him on the computer and show them to friends.

The computer idea didn't work as well as I thought, so I bought him a DVD player for Fathers Day.
He throws the DVD in, and the pics are on his tv for everyone to watch.

However, the remotes confused him. So, I went through everything step-by-step and wrote down the instructions.

Then, I wrote them up in a size 14-font Word document and printed it for him. I left a copy on top of the tv and emailed a copy to my sisters.

Now, the instructions are clear, easy to follow, and easy to find.

(I included the "I am lost and need to start over" instructions.)
