AggieDave 6 #1 February 18, 2008 Well, yesterday I sold my truck. The 1998 maroon Z71 that most everyone knows as "AggieDave's truck" is gone and is now in the hands of the perfect buyer for my truck. Some parents from H-town bought the truck for their kid's 16 year old birthday. He fell in love with the truck when he saw it. I'm sad to see my friend go, but I'm very happy to see the truck's new owner will love the truck as much as I did. Now the big work on my VW starts. This week a new aluminum case, tapped and full flowed, shuffle pined, 8mm chromoly case saver studs, welded behind #3...well, it'll be a 2180cc engine German Look. Its over half way done and needed to sell the truck to build the engine and buy the custom brake parts. So for now until I finish the work on my Super Beetle I'm 100% on my motorcycle.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." The image sorta scares me too. I was thinking more along the lines of Col. QTPi 0 #7 February 18, 2008 OMG! I can't believe you sold the truck Dave! That thing had wings. Literally! We have pictures! Kinda makes me sad too. AggieDave 6 #9 February 18, 2008 I drove this beetle for 5 years before I bought the truck. I have kept the car in storage since then waiting for the day that I could rebuild it on a better budget with better parts and higher performance parts. Whom ever said it is right, I'm more then sure we will have record rain fall and other very bad weather conditions. Its enough of a thought that I think I'm going to make a front fender to go on my bike (that has been fender-less for about 3 years now). QTpi, are you going to the scrambles in Spaceland this weekend? Which VW did you get? You saw the one that Morgan bought this past summer right? We're going to Spaceland, she'll do the scrambles and I'm training on their pond.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
