Floor Work. Can This Be Made Easier??

Always the critic. Did you get all of the humps and bumps off of the old floor? That laminate will eventually tell on you if you didn't.

Just to make sure, I'd lay a thin set of self leveling compound.

I think efs laid that floor down temporarily until he got ready to lay the new tile down. A man's got to use the toilet in the meantime.

Correct. It didn't take long, and It's kind of an experiment to see how long it lasts. I have the tile ready and waiting to be put down when the laminate goes to hell in a hand basket. That may be years, however. The floor will come up without a fight.

Dunno...if any moisture gets under it, won't last too long.

BTDT! ;)

If he forgot the wax ring, no it won't last long. :D

Or if his 'aim' is off! ;)

Didn't see a lotta panties hanging on the shower rod so I'm willing to be he's not real careful!

Can't say I've ever seen a wood floor in a bathroom but it looks great. How many layers of laquer are you putting down to make it watertight.

Laminate flooring is not the best choice for a bathroom floor. (Especially where men are involved). Doesn't handle moisture very well. :S That's why I believe he said he's got tile standing by to replace it when needed. I'm thinking it'll be sooner, not later, we'll see another video on the subject....;)

The two boxes cost $57.00 at Sam's Club. I expect it to last a couple of years. I've seen hotels with Laminate on the floor, and it holds up well.

There's no glue. I'm trying to seal around the edges. I try to mop up when it gets wet also.

If I get a Year I'll be happy.

You'll find that the water causes the edges to bubble if it's not extensively sealed, even if you do clean it up quickly. Hell, just pour a bucket of lacqeur on it and call it a day.
