SpeedRacer 1 #1 February 26, 2008 Armpits, sweaty t-shirts, used gym socks, morning breath, other cats' butts, you name it, if it stinks, they love it. But last night I put some Bengay on my back & the cat (who is normally shy & won't let people pick her up) went nuts smelling it & trying to climb on my back & bite me. weird. I wouldn't think that the smell of menthol & camphor would set off a cat like that. tigra 0 #3 February 26, 2008 One of my cats loves anything with camphor and menthol. She will even try to lick off my lip balm.

Speculate it may be the camphor, which is one of the essential oils in catnip, to which the cat responded. Or maybe it's just one of the mysteries of "kittehs." tigra 0 #6 February 26, 2008 That IS interesting because the cat who loves lip balm, lotion and pretty much anything with that camphor scent doesn't care all that much about cat nip. One of my other cats LOVES cat nip and isn't into the lotion, etc.........
PLFXpert 0 #7 February 26, 2008 That leaves us with a "kitteh" mystery, then. Who wants to solvent? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

PLFXpert 0 #10 February 26, 2008 I'm not sure you got what I meant. But, my kitties are not at all mysterious to me. I know exactly what is up at all times. Yesterday morning I was supposed to read an online pamphlet e-mailed to me and I responded I would certainly attempt to read it before our appointment in a couple hours, however I was not able to view the lower left-hand portion due to a fluffy feline laying on my desk. skymama 37 #11 February 26, 2008 My cat loves to lick my son's sweaty feet after he's been playing soccer. His cleats smell so bad, they're not even allowed in the house. It's disgusting! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Now, that's nasty! I guess I haven't noticed my cat having a fetish for stinky things, but she does have a dog food fetish. She doesn't eat it, but she'll go over to the dish, take one or two pieces out with her paw, then bat it around for an hour or so until she gets bored with those pieces. Then, she'll go back over to the dish and repeat the steps. I'm cleaning up dog food bites all over the house on a nightly routine. Cats!
