JeepDiver 0 #1 March 8, 2006 I have 20 jumps on my new rig and have yet to have any issues arise. The last jump I made, not that I've ever experienced a hard opening but it did seem that this last jump was a bit more brisk than I've noticed in the past. What I experienced upon deployment and opening was a rapid adjustment of body position with my legstraps as I moved into a vertical body position under canopy inflation. It was enough to where I said to myself at the time, damn that hurt a little. My day continued after the jump, landing, etc. and I went on about my business. The last couple days however I've felt like I may have in some way pulled a groin muscle. I had a few pictures taken during the jump and I want to ask those that know more than I. Does the right legstrap look like it is properly positioned during freefall?
Kimblair13 0 #2 March 8, 2006 Umm...they look super loose to me. But that's just me, maybe. Oh, "ask your instructors". Muah ha haaaaaaa!
ntrprnr 0 #3 March 8, 2006 I saw those photos and my first thought was also - damn, those leg straps look loose... If mine were that loose, I'd be tasting chest strap when I opened. Did you notice the rig rise up on you upon opening? (Moreso than normal, I obviously mean)_______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." marks 0 #4 March 8, 2006 I don't think they look loose, they just rode down your leg a little... you got a butt bungie on those leg straps? if not, get one, they help alot..
Andy9o8 2 #5 March 8, 2006 The bungee idea is a good one, but I also think they look pretty loose. I think if he has a particularly "brisk" opening, he'll have purple thighs (or balls) for a few days.
superman0710 0 #6 March 9, 2006 hey tom, a butt bungee would probably help with that. maybe talk to fred, greg, or glenn about it.
