lawrocket 3 #4 March 12, 2008 It's called "echogenic chordae tendinae." there is a correlation with increased risk of trisomy 21. Having worked in ultrasound for a while, it was something we frequently saw. Other tests include the triple Screen test , rocker-bottom feet, thickening of the nuchal fold or nuchal translucency. However-- Amnio is the only way to be definitive with it, anf there are risks. My wife and I turned down an amnio with our son because it wouldn't change our minds. My son had a low AFP. My daughter had echogenic chordae tendinae. I was, thanks to workign in the field, just knowledgeable enough to have everything scare the shit out of me. My wife is hotter than your wife.
