FrancoR 0 #1 March 12, 2008 A friend and i are planing a roadtrip over to the other side of the country and back just for sightseeing. We are both from Germany and we want to explore the country while we work here before we go back home. We think we have all the typical sights on our route but maybe there are a few not so known places to see, along the way. Our current route itinerary is: South Carolina Blue Ridge Parkway Tail of the Dragon St. Louis Denver Pikes Peak Aspen Moab Canyonlands Glen Canyon Bryce Zion Las Vegas Death Valley LA Eloy Petrified Forest National Park El Paso New Orleans South Carolina. We have 2 weeks at the end of April so it is going to be a bit of a race :-) Anybody have any good places along the way? Scenic Roads, typical american stuff for the specific area. Anys suggestioins are welcome. FrankIf it does not cost anything you are the product.
BillyVance 35 #2 March 12, 2008 Are you visiting any drop zones along the way? Edited to add: well on the way out, go visit the Smoky Mountains. On the way back, check out Alabama's white sand beaches, maybe do a beach jump with Emerald Coast Skydiving... skydemon2 0 #7 March 12, 2008 Its a big country and 2 weeks isnt really that long if your driving maybe it shold a east coast expedition, from south to north! If you try to go from coast to coast you may have time to drive past a lot of stuff but not much time for stopping!Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone! FrancoR 0 #15 March 12, 2008 Wow, thanks for all the replies, but we need stuff that is on the way. 2 weeks is just not enough to zig zag from coast to coast and it's got to be coast to coast. Only Dropzone sheduled is Eloy, don't want to bore my non jumping friend to death, but have to show him a real big DZ so he can do another Tandem. I am still missing a typical american diner a real one not something that looks like an old diner. It's not just the typical tourist attractions we are looking for. We can probalby check out one ore two more national parks, thanks for the terragalleria link. Tac pro is also along the way and typicall american :-) We will check that out. Alabamas Beaches sounds easy to visit, but no jumping i will be at the memorial day boogie. Grand Canyon probably not, been there twice. Loved the Redwoods and have seen them 20 years ago, but probably not because to far off the way. Any more tips along our way? Probably not going to post till monday due to another boogie.
