For rap, it is Dr. Seuss definitely. The use of anapestic tetrameter is the giveaway. It appears everywhere.

I figure it was a casual search for information about pop music that led the "musician" to the Seuss classic Hop on Pop. The rest is history. The parallels are just too obvious.

2LiveCrew sampled Earache My Eye Yep, done by Cheech and Chong.
Later, KoRn did a version too.
Rock to rap to grunge. You see how it flows.

New culture builds atop the old. The popular tv show Schoolhouse Rock used 50s genre music to promote learning.
