My Spyder is up and running!

Recommended Posts

After 2 motor swaps(first motor i put in was blown before it went in) my car is running. I still have to mess with the power steering pump a little bit but other than that everything is fine with NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!

It feels really good knowing that after doing a motor swap for the first time by myself that i can actually do it now. Plus doing it twice gave me some practice...now i can get it done in less than a day(remove and install).

If anyone needs a swap donein the Jacksonville area and they dont feel like messing with a shop let me know. I have a 2 1/4 ton hoist that i now own.:D

I can finally make it to the dz to continue my aff training!

So, let me get this all straight...

Original engine blew up.

You replaced it with engine #2, which was pre-broken for you.

You replaced pre-broken engine #2 with engine #3.

Engine #3 breaks a timing belt THE NEXT DAY & doesn't bend any valves.

Is that about right?

If so, I recommend you buy a few lottery tickets!

Me? I'd sell the car ASAP & buy a late 80's/early 90's Chevy half ton pick up (they're much easier to work on!). It sounds like it's cursed! On the other hand, I can see wanting to keep it as you've invested so much time & money in it (not to mention the education it gave, or more appropriately forced on, you).

Glad to hear you're mobile again!
