ACMESkydiver 0 #1 March 25, 2008 How is it going, all? I struggled with some really bad food choices this weekend again. Just couldn't stop eating bad foods. It's a terrible thing. I haven't worked out in 3 days either -we went on vacation Saturday morning, night, and came back Sunday around 5pm (weird I know...but that's when hubby could book the most romantic room in the resort overlooking Haystack rock on Cannon Beach...>sigh<...Anyhow now we're both sick. Sore throat and I have a miserable headache and my ears ache. Freaking fragga-lagga... I'll be better by next week so this week will prolly be 'off'. Well how's everyone else doing? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
Nightingale 0 #2 March 25, 2008 Down 2.5 pounds. =) I only diet during the week... weekends, I eat whatever, which works out better in the long run, because I don't start craving foods. It's easy to put something aside and say "I can have some on Saturday". If I was going to eat 2 cookies every day after dinner, that's 14 cookies/week, but if I just eat them on the weekends, I might have 3/day, but that's only 6 cookies/week as opposed to 14. NWFlyer 2 #4 March 25, 2008 It sucks. I've been making bad choices for a couple of weeks now and I've got to stop. Lack of structure is not good for me. I just have to get out of my damn house. I've been on the phone and computer all day with this project. I just keep eating Krispie Kremes and coffee. That's all I've had all day was donuts and coffee...I got out for 2 hours with Jaleesa's track meet...other than that, drinking coffee, eating donuts, sitting at my desk. I'm stopping this tomorrow. Stopping the backsliding again before it costs me another 4 weeks like the last bad weekend.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. McBeth 0 #9 March 25, 2008 I've been stuck at about 8lbs down for awhile now. Need to do something to kick myself in the butt!
Nightingale 0 #10 March 25, 2008 Quote That makes a lot of sense, and is a strategy I'm going to start using myself. I try not to weigh myself within a day or two of my "day off" because I have a tendency to blame it all on "it was those six cookies!"if I weigh right after a free day. If I give it a day or two after, it's easier to look at the whole week in perspective. For example, I ate 2100 calories on Saturday (700 or so being one meal at Jack in the Box!), but stayed between 1400-1600 the rest of the week, so I didn't do too badly. The online food diary I've been using has also really helped. It lets me track what I eat, so I'm more aware of what's going into my mouth. I don't sit and snack on candy from a bag anymore. I count out one serving and put the bag away, because if it's not in front of my face, I'm less likely to open it again.
skybytch 273 #11 March 25, 2008 We're all doing this hoping to see some kind of results, right? I saw some results this weekend. After getting a few miles in on Saturday before the dog started limping, on Sunday we hiked about a mile and gained about 200 feet of altitude. A year ago I'd have had to stop halfway to rest (complete with burning calf muscles and a bit out of breath). This time I just powered on, no muscle burn, able to carry on a conversation while walking. And something strange that I'm noticing lately, which I'm attributing to all this exercise... I've started to crave real food instead of the mostly processed crap I usually eat. Not so good for the grocery bill though, since real food is more expensive than processed crap. tigra 0 #14 March 25, 2008 Don't beat yourself up over a weekend of indulgence. You're in this for the long haul, remember? If you can't treat yourself every now and then what's the point? That being said- step away from the Krispy Kremes. They only make you feel good for a little while, anyway. (I could go for one right now, though! Good thing there aren't any Krispy Kreme locations anywhere near me right now!) And feel better. Seems like everyone around me is fighting off some kind of bug, myself included. Gotta love our non-existent Midwest spring!

Aight, after recognizing the pattern I went back to my old pattern this morning - gym is the first thing I do in the morning. Wake up, eat something light (yogurt), grab a mug of coffee, and hit the gym. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not sit down in front of the computer... just go. Sets the right tone for the day. It felt good. "There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. micduran 0 #17 March 25, 2008 I just signed up for the Peachtree 10K road race. That means I am back in the running game. It has been a while and I am glad to have that as my motivation. I'll share my progress and encouragement with you guys since I'll be getting encouragement from you, too. The more the merrier, right? iambeav2 0 #21 March 26, 2008 Alright, here's the deal. I wanna be in the fitness friends things, but I'm thinking I'm way late. I've been absent on the forums here lately for reasons unbeknownst. I started my fall-rate control on Valentines day this year...and I'm down 34 lbs!!...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you! tigra 0 #24 March 26, 2008 Upper body last night with the trainer. Ouch! But in a good way! You know, I get frustrated because I feel like my upper body especially is pretty weak, but when I compare the stuff he's got me doing now to when we started 6 months ago, there is a pretty significant improvement. Still a long way to go, but definite improvement. A question for the ladies- how many of you can do unassisted pull ups and dips? I can't, never really could and its one of my goals, but I never see women doing those at the gym, only the guys. So is that even a realistic goal?
