I have a few friends that pursued that route, only to be in the exact same jobs that they were in, making the same money, etc. One of them though earned hers in preparation for a complete career change, so in the long term it will pay off. Unfortunately, far too many have pursued that route looking for the immediate pay-off, only to find that they actually need to have some common sense along with that fancy piece of paper.
