iluvtofly 0 #1 April 1, 2008 For those who don't remember I had spoken before about STATMedEvac setting up a new base here in town. They are currently staying at the ambulance service I work at until their new place is built. This means we have a pretty helicopter sitting on our parking lot. Well, the weather is actually nice enough today that I have the window open. That thing has taken off and landed 3 times during my shift today. And everytime it takes off I get a big wiff of jet fuel. I absolutly love that smell (I'm sure I'm not the only one on this site that does). While I'm smiling and taking as much of the smell in as I can everyone else I work with is hacking and gagging. They all think I'm nuts for liking that smell. My boss says that it explains why I have some mental retardation issues (He's joking of course).
kschilk 0 #2 April 1, 2008 To each their own, I suppose. I love the smell of the fuel but the exhaust, not so much. I do miss the aroma of crisp afterburner, though."T'was ever thus."

You'd probably get more postive replies if you offered certain things in return. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. It's a fine line though - you have to find the sweet spot where the warm exhaust gas overrides the cold prop blast.
mamajumps 0 #9 April 1, 2008 I love the smell too... I love spending the night at the dz and waking up to props turning.... on my myspace page, I have the logo form Go Fast that says " I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning..."
