ACMESkydiver 0 #27 April 7, 2008 Has to be Hydrocodone +APAP. Hydrocodone alone = pain is still there, you just don't care as much. Hydrocodone +APAP = pain is duller, AND you don't care as much. It is addictive though. Deuce & I talked about it a few years ago. I had a hard time stopping the pill-popping after my ankle surgeries...he had had the same problem after an injury. If you don't watch it, you start to need the drug but you realize that it isn't about the pain any more. At that point it needs to end right away. Some people have a harder time with the 'ending' than others. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
livendive 8 #28 April 7, 2008 QuoteIt sucks for me. When I broke my back they started me out on Lortab (sp) great stuff. I slept for a week. They switched me to Vicodin, I ate that stuff like Pez and just laid there wide awake in pain. After a week of daytime TV I was up and about. I still have a huge bottle of those things. I use them for headaches. You must have just switched dosage, because Lortab and Vicodin are the same thing (hydrocodone and acetominophen). Personally, I take Norco, which is another variant of the same drug, with less acetominophen per mg of hydrocodone...mine are 10/325 whereas vicodin combines them in 100:1 ratios, e.g. 5/500. Like Karen, I agree that oxycodone works best, but for that reason it should be reserved for "peak" pain management, as opposed to chronic pain management. If one were to build a tolerance to that, their options for handling any substantial increase in pain level would be pretty limited. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" LongWayToFall 0 #32 April 8, 2008 I agree, norcos are the SHIT! oxys are some strong stuff. I hear you have to get multiple doc's to sign off on the prescription. They have HUGE dosages available though, say the normal dosage is 10mg (way stronger than 10mg of hydrocodone) they go all the way to 100mg. if a normal person with no tolerance took a 100mg, they would definitely die. dirtyB 0 #33 April 8, 2008 Yes, but for me, not as good as Percocet. I seem to have some freakish tolerance to Vicodin (hydrocodone)."Don't let the bon-bons give you a fat ass. Merry X-mas!" - Skydemon2

Stuntbabex 0 #36 April 8, 2008 I agree. I found that it didnt so much take the pain away as much as it just doped me up and made me not mind it as much. When i had shoulder surgery it was the best thing I had though so I took it anyways. After only 3 days I stopped taking it cold turkey and the withdrawls were terrible. Screw that stuff!
