brianfry713 0 #26 February 24, 2006 Thanks, I was wondering what those downhill road slopes actually were. I hadn't actually measured any of them. I guess I'll just have to drive faster . If I could just find a straight freeway with a 20 degree slope and hit 228 mph...I'd still rather have my AAD turned off, especially if it's like an Astra where it doesn't turn itself off automatically. I'd rather have it turned off and not worry about it than risk a misfire in my trunk, however unlikely that is. Also, looking at the figures in the tests from the link that sundevil777 posted above, I don't think it would ever save power for a Cypres 1 to wait until it shuts itself off. From my math, which could be way off, it seems like unless it's already going to shut itself off within the next 3 minutes, you'd save battery power by shutting it down manually. Also, if you're still jumping it after nearly 14 hours with only a few minutes to go until auto shutdown, you should have already manually reset it yourself so that you don't risk having it shut off before you're done jumping for that day. kelpdiver 2 #27 February 25, 2006 slopes are decently shallow for what our mind would expect. Either side of Altamount pass probably doesn't exceed 10%. I generally turn off my C2 when leaving, for the same sorts of reasons. But I doubt it matters. The longest day of the year for us in bay area would be 14:52 for Sacramento (SF is 14:47) at the summer Solstice, so I guess if load one left real early and the sunset load was pushed a little, it could happen. But if you make it to 7am, no need unless you're night jumping.
