gus 1 #1 February 21, 2006 I'd like to replace the brake lines on my Crossfire2 but I'm struggling to find a UK rigger who carries vectran. Are you one? Do you know one? Thanks, GusOutpatientsOnline.com

gmac324 0 #3 February 21, 2006 I actually just got new brake lines on my crossfire, a very good alternative to vectran is 550lb Dacron. It works very well for the lower brake lines and it wears much better than vectran. The breaking strain of the original brake lines is 1000lbs I think, but since the lower control lines aren't loaded on opening it doesn't really matter that it's less. Cost me £10 for a new set. riggerrob 643 #4 February 21, 2006 Yes, Precision uses 500 pound Dacron for lower steering lines on canopies that are otherwise lined with HMA, because Dacron lasts much longer when dragged through steering guide rings, slider grommets, etc.
