Recommended Posts

My fridge keeps freezing everything inside...the freezer and fridge are set at 2 out of 7 on the temp gauge,,:Sthis started happening last week. Doesnt matter if the thing is full or almost empty . I pulled it away from the wall and wiped and vacumed the underneath.....nothing was overly dirty and the damn thing is less than 5 years old. Any one come across this before? Thanx

My fridge kept doing that a few years back. After installing 2 new thermostats it turned out to be a gas leak in the cooling system. Doesn't quite make sense, but after the offending piece of pipe was replaced, it's working fine.

This happened to me last year. The fridge was about 8 years old. I noticed ice condensation in the freezer (side-by-side), and it would sometimes be really cold in the freezer, or not cold at all in the fridge.

The deal was a circuit board that kept the cooling unit from frosting. The circuit board had a relay that switched off if it got too cold. The relay broke. The fridge repair guy thawed out the ice in the freezer with a hair dryer, then replaced the circuit board. Charged me like $110 to do it. I can get the board online for $25, so next time, I'll just do it myself.
Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
