That's a little disturbing.:|

How do you know this - what evidence do you have?

Although I'm sure HH will be bitching out the ad company for sending those through, you can solve this problem for yourself very easily.

Use Firefox instead of IE, and get the Ad Block Plus extension.

True - I could - but I like that the little emoticons are put where I want them put, instead of at the end of the post.

So if I go back and want to add a smiley - I have to either type it out long hand or copy and paste it where I want iot to be - not very efficient.

That is what I'm doing, but at times like this I feel so...left out of all the excitement.[:/]

All I could find was some low-risk, easy to detect and delete tracking cookie.:S

It's not DZ.com per se, it's the banner ads.

Step 1:Find out which advertiser or programmer wrote the code that allows the tracking cookie to be passed to the users of the site.

Step 2: Contact said programmer or company representative.

Step 3: Issue a cease and decist letter.

Lots of trouble for all that.
Shouldn't be this way.[:/]

It's not that complicated. People visit a web site voluntarily and interact with it voluntarily. Cookies are a part of that interaction and you either agree to them or you don't visit the web site... or you miss some of it's content.

This isn't even about cookies.

I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. Since i kept getting that pop up message saying "blah blah, some files can damage your computer" well does anyone know if the IT guy at work gets warnings when a computer on the network gets those pop ups?

I use IE 7 and never sffer any of these issues, my pop up blocker works just fine, I've never heard the helos once :)if you keep al your MS software updated regularly and dont allow popups you have far fewer issues. Like NONE for me.

Too logical...it'll never fly.
Those Bill Gates wannabes will go with IE until their computer is a smoldering, sputtering pile of plastic...and then try software fixes on it.

And how cool is that, can you PM me the winning lottery numbers for the next month or so?
