Of course the cops are gonna make up a story to "CYA"... but you can't argue the fact that they (cops) were wrong when the dog had surgery, especially spine surgery.

On one hand you can say you were not there, and that guy could have been making the ooh my poor dog can barely walk story up and on a regular basis this dog was agressive. On the other hand he paid to have his alarm monitored by a company who would notify police if it went off. Your dog set off the alarm, the police responded. Now the situation with the police shooting the dog, I agree if I felt the dog was going to harm me, and I have made every effort to retreat its bang bang time we dont know if that is what happened, or if the officers just shot right off. Its not like the police were just walking around peoples back yard for nothing, and im sure he will be compensated even though people are going to say money could not replace a loved one.

I agree that his house was monitored and the police were there trying to make sure nobody was stealing this guys stuff. What didn't sit well with me was where the blood was. If the dog charged these officers I think he would have been shot in the lawn near where the officers are standing. Dobermans are fast, I own one. Instead it looked like the dog was shot on the porch where it was IMO standing and barking.

Also, I don't think the Doctor is making up the surgeory bit. The fact that it was dobe might have made the cops over react.

8 shell casings? The yard wasn't big, so they couldn't have been separated by much...how bad of a shot, or how over the line were these guys?

I woke up one morning to cops in the drive way of the apartments I lived in at the time. A deer had been hit on the street and ended up in the driveway and was still alive. I watched the cop stand not eight feet away and miss the deer twice before putting it out of it's misery. Three shots from eight feet.

I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

Take a look at a LEO target range, look at all the nice bullet marks and holes in things that were not targets.

I rest my case.

Oh and I love it when I get told no rapid fire (one round every second or slower) because only cops are allowed to do that! they have TRAINING!
