Ok I feel better. It's not worth going into detail about really...the account I have been working on for 3 weeks, spending all of my time, MUCh of my money, energy, follow up, etc...well they LOVE my stuff! But they found out that some [edit so I don't get sued]whom I cannot name is a friend of someone somewhere and since they loved all of my demos, they just called to tell us 'Thanks for all the work we'll go through him.' F*cking guy is ALREADY a G.D. millionaire and waltzes in and takes advantage of all of the hours and money & sweat I poured into this gawddamned HELLACIOUS set up and just takes it. Mother *%($&%. Honestly he probably doesn't know that I've been working this for weeks. But just F*CK I am so pissed off. I actually like the guy...haven't ever met him face to face, but I do like him. Maybe he's been working this hard for weeks, too. Yeah. Maybe he's been working really hard to get in good and then it was just timing, that's all. Yeah. I'll choose to believe that because it would really break my heart if he knew that someone had been busting their ass to set all of this up and then he just intentionally f*cked me out of it. ACMESkydiver 0 #6 April 16, 2008 Ok I think I have a handle on my anger now. -I know nobody here will ever believe it, but I have somewhat of a quick temper! (I know! Everyone's like, 'No wayyyy!' ) Yes. When I see the owner I'll just make sure to tell him that we run an ethical business and if 'he' made the business contact and showed you this product line first, then 'he' should get the account and we're happy for him. That way if he really did, then yea for him. -I'm going with that, because like I said, we really like the guy and his wife. happythoughts 0 #7 April 17, 2008 I spent a couple of months working on a demo. Went to Canada to show the demo. All they wanted was for me to architect the design. Then, they had their inhouse people "attempt" to put it together. Later, they paid someone a chunk of cash to fix their flavor. I've been doing some interviewing lately. I get a lot of the "What if you had this problem, how would you fix it?" questions from people who are trying to get free solutions. I always ask, "Well, is... this happening too?" So I can still like the celeb in question. Then, the client is talking with another company and says, "btw, could you incorporate this? This sounds like something that we want." The rep of the other company honestly has no idea that the knowledge/concept comes from another vendor. They are just agreeing to do what the customer asked. I have to say 'no regrets' with that job even though they were dishonest at the end. I still made more money than I had ever made in my life for those 3 years...so much that I took up skydiving.
