Ever gotten a little too close to the trees

Recommended Posts

One guy at Cross Keys got way too close to the trees trying to swoop the gap between the hangar and the trees. I believe this was at the 1997 NJ state record 100 ways. He caught the end cell on a branch and turned himself 180 degrees and WHAM! Goddamn if he didn't just stand up and brush himself off. Lucky fucker. They were playing and replaying the video for hours after that!

Oh, wow! There is a blast from the past!
I was at General Dynamics / Fort Worth in the late '80's when I saw the entire film with fully-intact audio, from which this excerpt was taken.

Yep...

When it was all over, had a 4" diameter tree coming through the floorboards and out the overhead about 6" from where my head was (as I was kissing my ass goodbye during a loss of tail drive in a Huey). Trees actually broke the fall.
