World Cup Speed Skydiving. How fast can you fall.

Recommended Posts

Sounds like fun and easy enough. There has to be a catch. My avg belly speed 145 to 180. i brok 200mph the other day in a sit, I thought that jump went quick then I checked the PT, Well it sure did.

Tell me more. I read the rules still has to be more to it. If I went head down i'm sure 200 + won't be a problem.

There is a point at which it gets hard to stay stable.. BUT if you can fall thru that the feeling is AWSUM.....

The main thing is what is your OVERALL speed for the whole dive... not just the spikes that so many people get on thier protracks when doing transitions in freeflying.. I have seen plenty of peeps go with suppossed 300 MPH+ spikes.. but when you look at the average for the whole dive.. there is the REAL STORY...when you start getting averages over 200MPH+ for the whole dive.. then you are talkin...FUN:ph34r:

I have thought alot lately about where am I going with my jumps. The answer is streight down, every time. This looks like something I could eventually progress to, never know you might see me at one of the comps one day. it sure does look like a ton of fun. hahahahahahaha, I crack myself up.

What about the terminal speed at deployment, to slow down fromm 200+ from 6K tricky. I'll be looking into it, know anybody in south central Fl who I can talk to? thanks D-4digit

If you can make it out to Eloy the last weekend of March.. I will be there parctising..
Slowing down froim 5500 is not too bad... just think go from no lift to a bit of an arch and you shoot into one hell of a track.... then as you start to bleed off speed.. bring your arms from your elows down out.. slowly as speed brakes...if you just try to go stable it can hurt like hell... and possibly dislocate something at 200 plus. ONce you feel the speed bleed off.. I have my Pro tracks in my helmet set to go off at 2500 as a flatline.. 5500 to come out of the dice.. 4500 to start the breaking... and I should be completely slowed down to deployment speeds by 2500.... then again.. pulling at 2500 does not freak me out like some people...

The one time I decided to see how fast I could really go with a borrowed PRO TRACK, I maxed out at 224 mph without any specific practice... probably averaged about 180 over the whole freefall... I remember coming out of the track by 5000 feet, pulled at 2500 feet... WHAMMO!! yeeoutch!!! I was told that people on the ground heard my canopy slam open...B|

What the hell... maybe I'll just pull out by 6000 feet next time! And I'm 5'-6" and 160 lbs naked.... :P

Get some advice befor you try the sppedo stuff. :)

Heard a rumor about someone breaking their canopy when they didn't slow down fast enough.

Gotta have a plan and a spare canopy if you want to go fast.

The jumpsuits:P Need more pics

It would have been a loud opening if YOU could have heard it and not just felt like you think it might have sounded like. :S

Several years ago I did 292mph on a speed dive. My first attempt and my fastest dive to date. No really looking at doing any more. Way too many things can go wrong. I'll leave that to someone else.
