happythoughts 0 #1 April 24, 2008 Owning a car requires maintenance, occasional fixing, and such. There are various levels of tools. As simple as car wax is, it is a maintenance tool. There are tools for life that do not necessarily have clear descriptions. Some of them overlap. Someone once said that there are different types of intelligence. One was "social", it is used in leadership. Politicians, religions, management. Motivation. Some people are not well educated, but are self-motivated and work hard in pursuit of goals. It can overlap with another talent, e.g. math, when following a degree. Hard work, educational gifts, social skills, artists... Mine is the ability to see what has value and do that. I can help groups accomplish things. (I should start a cult) What is your skill?

I have also found this to be a very useful social tool as well and helps me get through most situations relatively unscathed. When in Doubt, Bullshit. More Bullshit the better. jimmytavino 16 #5 April 24, 2008 .....I've always been very able , to identify the bullshitters!!!I do have pretty accurate instincts about people...which helps... also, my folks taught us all to be well-mannered and THAT goes a long way in life . I got a B S degree ( no.. NOT bullshit) in anthropology when i was in college,,, I "minored" in skydiving.... and while i never entered employment in the field of Anthro. it did prepare me for a life of dealing with people... on a business, casual and personal basis...I learned patience and tolerance and to start out with respect for others,,, until THEY do something to negate that respect... all good tools for life. jmy
DavidB 0 #6 April 24, 2008 Professionals prefer Mac or Snap-On. Most hobbiests get by with Craftsman. For rare occasional use, Northern or Harbor Freight is good enough. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
