Vista SP1 Make Boom!!

Recommended Posts

So, the day it's released, I think I'll be cool and clean everything up before I download it.
Run CC Cleaner, ad-aware, Vista Optimzer, scan disk, defrag the HD, back up all the work product and favorites...
OK, I'm ready.
Ta-da... it's downlaoded... Reboot
Alright, let's take this on a little test drive.
Where's my iTunes? :S
I can see it, let's check the files... I see it
Alright, let's reboot again...
Click iTunes.... nothing
Alrighty, let's do some homework on this little ditty.
Ahh, OK, just download the newest version of iTunes and I'm good to go...
Nope. No iTunes..>:(

More homework... uh oh.... I'm one of the lucky ones... At least no BSOD

Everyone get's their 2 cents, and here's mine...(IT prof, lol)

Grew up and trained on PC's, personal investigation and training on Mac's and Linux(es)...ALL ARE GREAT FOR DIFFERENT REASONS...

It's just seeming that M$ is trying to make it more user friendly but turning out that (please don't flame me for this) the more up to par w/ technology you are, the easier it is...but for the people that don't give a shit, or enjoy intuitive ideas, Linux(es) and Macs are where it's at. My home built Vista machine has NEVER given me problems, but then again I keep up on all my shit, and haven't really had to mess too much with my own patches...however, I've crossdriven(not a real word, but what I call it) so I can boot up Ubuntu...and I love that too...the only thing I don't use as much of...but do not look down on is Macs...but still I understand Vista has it's problems, but for me it's been nothing less than perfect for what I use it for and can fix IF NEEDED.

I know a very small few other dot commers on here that feel similarly in my viewing...as I've seen them post the same things....

A GOOD MAC=A GOOD PC=A GOOD LINUX BOX
...it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you!

All hype and product eye gouging aside, do yourself a favor and make your life easy, buy a Mac. Since making the switch to a Mac I have not regretted it. All the time I save not downloading patches and worrying about viruses lets me do other things, like live.

I agree.

If you want to learn all about how to fix computers and have bragging rights about how much you know, buy a M$-based machine.

If you want to have fun and actually produce something, get a Mac.
My reality and yours are quite different.

After going thru the frustration in the wee hours, I couldn't help but flash back to the picture you once posted of your workstation (where I said - you win) and thinking to myself... ya know... I shoulda followed Scott's lead some time ago. :D

It takes a little bit to transition over but once you learn to do things the easy way and un-learn the backwards PC way of doing things, its very straight forward and quite enjoyable.
