ladydyver 0 #1 May 5, 2008 noooo....numbers yet???? Guess I will post first....and no that doesn't mean beer :6:2 had some nice jumps this week. Opening weekend for me at our new DZ....at the "Ritz.".....so therefore first jump at the DZ means beer owed. Did my first track and dive, which I totally sucked at but was alot of fun. Some really nice 3 and 4 ways and had some nice no wind landings and some not so nice no wind landings....getting ready to shorten break lines on the new canopy so hopefully the landings will improve gradually.DPH # 2 "I am not sure what you are suppose to do with that, but I don't think it is suppose to flop around like that." ~Skootz~ I have a strong regard for the rules.......doc! grannyinthesky 0 #8 May 5, 2008 :2;2 Finished AFF and jumped my own pack job, though I didn't know it for sure at the time. I packed it Thursday night when the winds had us grounded. My practice packs had generally been re-packed before anyone jumped them, but I heard my instructor say something to the other student about jumping them ourselves. I did wait until after I had landed to ask if it was my pack job. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! wildfan75 1 #11 May 5, 2008 Stupid winds!! 4 was the number of hours spent on Sunday washing one of the planes while on wind hold. It hadn't been done in about 5 year so there was some interesting caked on mess. One down, two to go. Side note: Today is my 2nd skyversary! Two down, countless others to go. micduran 0 #12 May 5, 2008 :3:0 Two jumps with "locals". One jump with a guy who was visiting from a Cessna dz. He was sitting by the door in the Otter when it was opened for part of the ride to altitude. Funny to see someone completely enjoy what we take for granted. buff 0 #13 May 5, 2008 Wind gusts way too high Saturday and only got one two-way on a tandem load thanks to Air Force One shutting down the DZ for hours to fly Shrub in & out. Did see AF1 in free fall sitting on the tarmac at KIAB. TFRs. They turned him crosswind on departure just to the south of us so I gave a proper jumper salute. It's called the Hillbilly Hop N Pop dude. A "local"?? My first jump of the weekend was a 2 way head down and sit. I've not been in a head down position for that long and that stable yet, it was awesome!!! For not freeflying for 4 months pretty good jump. The other 3 were RW jumps that were just a little off, but always fun regardless.Skymama's #2 stalker -

poe62 0 #16 May 5, 2008 Beautiful days at Dallas this weekend! We got two people their SCRs while I attempted my SCS (almost got it before break off: arg). We're still working on finding a way to get my new Sabre2 to open faster and nicer (a 1200 ft snivel is not for me). It was much less scary than last weekend.~Nikki http://www.facebook.com/poe62 Irgity Dirgity

I think Milt wanted to send the plane up anyway but Norm talked some sense into him. I figured what the hey, F-16 rolls by, that C182 probably has a hotter heat signature than me in freefall.
