skybytch 273 #1 May 8, 2008 Is there a lawnmower out there that is designed such that rocks or pebbles can not be thrown from underneath it? How about if it is being run on concrete with numerous small rocks and pebbles on it? Does a grass catcher bag prevent rocks and pebbles from being thrown off the bottom of the mower? Is it plausible that a mower being operated on concrete with numerous small rocks and pebbles on it could throw one of said small rocks and pebbles 8 feet high and 10 feet away with enough force to break a window? ryoder 1,590 #3 May 8, 2008 Google for: "reel mower" When I was a kid I took out a window with a mower-thrown pebble, from 30 feet away. The point of impact was about 8 feet high."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. JohnMitchell 16 #4 May 8, 2008 Same happened to our neighbor last week. The slider door. Reel mowers are better for the grass, too.
skybytch 273 #5 May 8, 2008 Quote Google for: "reel mower" Thanks, but it wasn't my mower that took out the window. I should pass that info along to the owner of the mower that did though.

skydiver30960 0 #8 May 8, 2008 Quote RoboMow? I like how in the video it shows the "owners" of the robomow working out in the gym while their robomow takes care of the lawn. Couldn't they get the workout by just mowing the lawn themselves? Elvisio "makes sense" Rodriguez

airdvr 210 #10 May 9, 2008 Where I used to live the kids across the street hit a golf ball with their riding mower. Right through my front window all the way to the back of the house on the fly from about 1/8 mi away. My first thought was someone shot out my window. Please don't dent the planet. skybytch 273 #12 May 9, 2008 Quote Mulching mowers without a discharge chute, or a covered chute greatly reduce the risk of flying debris. Thanks. Do you know if any manufacturer says that debris absolutely will not fly from any model mower? The company responsible is insisting that the mower they use absolutely will not throw pebbles. It'd be helpful if I could prove them wrong.
CSpenceFLY 1 #13 May 9, 2008 I don't know of a manufacturer that would or could claim that. Just threaten to call your laywer they will pay for the window.
