ACMESkydiver 0 #1 May 11, 2008 'K I'm only slackin' by one and a half days... I didn't work out today or yesterday due to exhaustion and pain (total BS excuses my doc assures me ). I'll do it tomorrow. I pressed on through a tough workout Thursday and that was part of the sore muscle issues. I got on the scale today to see how far off track I've gotten...and I'm really surprised to see I'm right about where I was prior to my backslide. That's GOOD news; I've actually managed to lower my 'set' weight down almost 30 pounds. Experts say that this is the best way to lose weight permanently; drop weight, then maintain for some time, then drop weight again. Dropping so much weight all at one time almost guarantees a rebound, so this 'forced pause' is actually a good thing. I think I'm gonna start a pity party thread...this has been one of the worst weeks I can remember in well...probably 8 years or so. I just can't get over how it keeps getting worse! Ambulance ride with my daughter yesterday...in the ambulance we hear the call that a plane went down across from our house out of Crest that I knew a few pilots from (none that I was acquainted with I don't believe or I would have heard; God rest his soul). I don't need to get into the rest of it. Just a pity party but damn... -BUT...as of right now, it's getting better. Jaleesa Marie is fine; concussion and hyperventillation that scared the hell out of everyone (I lost ten years of life yesterday ) but she is OK. Get on wit' yo' fitness posts!!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
RALFFERS 0 #2 May 11, 2008 Ya know......for someone who has had so much happen to them in 1 week you sure use a lot of smiley's... I'm glad Sprouty is o.k.!!.....Jeez As for the plane crash, all I can say is I'm sorry. As for my fitness quest......it's 3:00 in the freaking morning & I just got home from the gym (bad, BAD Ralf! ) On a side note: I feel considerably apprehensive coming home at this time - after the 2 break-ins into my car into my car recently you just don't know who is out there. I feel like I could be jumped any minute, This is a good neighborhood mind you (at least it used to be ) - ask Joe. Anywhoo, back on topic... I haven't been keeping track of progress per say; I just know that I'm doing he right things to get where I need to go - the tunnel will tell soon enough where I stand & we'll see what I need to do next, if anything at that time. Hopefully though, I'll get the all clear to begin my student progression come August. The 1 thing I do have to become more disciplined at is stretching; that, as I've said before is just as mportant - if not more important than what I'm doing in the gym. MrFreefall383 0 #3 May 11, 2008 As usual, more self-IT this morning, Sunday, Mother's Day. I get up so early that there's never a question of interference. Anyway, I made up for not working out yesterday, and this morning I did 75 pushups, 150 crunches, 100 squats, and 100 flutterkicks. I'll do more later in between my responsibilities, gotta look ripped for the first graders I'm speaking with on Monday afternoon. On a side note, went to a dinner gathering at the house of one of my former political science professors last night. Those present who knew me barely recognized me. Always a good feeling. And of course I spent most of the night sharing my experiences and trying to convince a younger student to complete college before going to Army OCS, and talking to his girlfriend about the military lifestyle. Anything to help out a shipmate, right? "If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche

I had to take a step back and realize it could have been a whole lot worse. I'm not bound for another funeral (I didn't know the pilot), and Jaleesa doesn't have brain damage. It could have been MUCH worse, so I'm thankful. We all need to stretch more that's for sure. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

ACMESkydiver 0 #7 May 11, 2008 Thanks Cheesey but I just needed to whine a lil' bit. My buddy Valinda told me to pull myself together and quit behaving like a reactive victim instead of proactive woman-in not so many words. I loves Valinda. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
