micro 0 #1 February 6, 2006 So my new flitesuit came from the man in brown today. I dutifully tore open the package and put the sucker on. I had a mother of a time getting the booties on over my shoes. (I first put the suit on, then put my shoes on, then tried to slip the booties on over the shoes.). The back of the bootie (where your heal is) has elastic. I didn't get the zippered kind. Maybe I should have. Anyway, maybe it's b/c I have huge cloppy feet, but is there any trick to getting booties on quickly and efficiently? I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And... AggieDave 6 #2 February 6, 2006 My RW suit fits similar. I put the booties on when I slide my feet into the suit. If the suit is on, I pull the legs down pulling my feet into the pants leg and insert my feet into the booties. My solution was to shoe-goo the hell out of them and when I got ready to put my rig on, I'd put the booties on. Under canopy I still take them off though.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
justinb138 0 #3 February 6, 2006 I had the same kinda thing when my suit was new. Either I got used to it, or it stretched out a little bit, but it is much easier now. Flite Suit booties are cut from a shoe size pattern that assumes you're wearing sneakers. Regardless, I'd suggest sending the suit back for adjustment. You should be able to put the booties on without a struggle; I don't have zips on mine and I can put the booties on over sneakers without a problem (but I would have a problem putting them on over hiking boots). They may need to add some length to the bootie in the toe area, more width in the back and/or add to the width of the bootie sole to make them fit your shoes correctly. It's helpful if you can send a picture of you wearing the suit and the shoes. Focus on the shoe/bootie area, showing that the bootie ain't gonna fit over the shoe. Include the height at the toe (from the sole to the top) of the shoes you usually wear when you're jumping. Also include a tracing of the bottom of your shoe so they can tell if the bootie sole is wide enough or not. Edit to add - remeasure your inseam and crotch to knee measurements (i.e. have someone else measure them for you) and send them as well.
