Jumpsuit fabric

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what kind of qualities to body flight the different types of fabric that jumpsuits are made out of would give an individual. I was looking at some different jumpsuit companies, and they say tht different fabrics can affect your fall rate and what not, but they don't really go into too much detail about it. Any help would be appreciated.

That is the info I have gotten so far, another sight mentioned that you can make a suit out of ZP or even f-111, but it dosen't mention how they fly. Allthough it did pretty much say that a suit made of ZP will suck durring the warm months.

A fabric with more "body" will exhibit a slower fall rate. So light, slick fabrics make for faster jumpsuits, thick, more rigid fabrics will make it slower. Using a double layer of any fabric will slow the fall rate. I wouldn't agonize, or over-analyze it. Trust what the reputable manufacturer tells you. Note also that for any given fabric, the fall rate is dramatically affected by the cut and fit of the jumpsuit.

So basically something like cotton will have a really slow fall rate, and the artificial fabrice (nylon family) will have a faster fall rate depending on slick the fabric itself feels. I gues that would make sense. The smoother the fabric the less drag it will produce. kinda like the difference of riding your bike wearing a t-shirt and jeans verses wearing a bicyling jersey, and shorts or tights
