darkwing 5 #2 February 4, 2006 Interesting. Where is the difference? In the uppers, or the lowers? Is the brake setting the same? I will say that every manufacturer has shipped a faulty product on occasion, the real test is how it is dealt with. Hi, Let me try to help you: -lines attached to the canopy are called cascades lines or upper steering lines. -Between cascade line and the ones you attach the toggles are called lower steering lines. -And finally, the ones attached to the toggle are called brake to toggles. So wich one is out of trim? The cascade lines should not be same length. In your case, a triathlon 160, the inboard line shoud be 6" longer. Don't let anybody work in your canopy until you have contact the manufacturer. You paid for it!! Cheers,Gus Marinho
Samurai136 0 #5 February 4, 2006 The lower control line is the length from the cat's eye to the toggle. The cat's eye is the loop in the brakeline where you set the brakes. Upper control line is the length from the cat's eye to the canopy. If you insert a pen through both cat's eyes, the upper control line lengths should be identical. If the lower control lines ( cat's eye to toggle) are not the same length, adjusting the brake setting is all that's needed."Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
namgrunt 0 #6 February 4, 2006 LET ME SLOW DOWN SHE LINES ATTACHEC TO THE CANOPY ARE CORRECT these line gather together and have a single line running down to where a differant line attachec them to the handles this center line (longest) is where lengths ..right or left are differant lenghts right handle overall length is 4.75 inches shorter than left with handles un stowed canopy would turn when handles are all the way up ..fast spin our rigger looked at is and had a fit ..this was ment as a warning to outher new owners ..59 YEARS,OVERWEIGHT,BALDIND,X-GRUNT LAST MIL. adobelover 0 #7 February 5, 2006 Thanks for the heads up...I'm awaiting my Tri to arrive this week. I've already talked to my rigger about hooking it up next weekend. He will be very careful double checking the lines and if something's not right he won't let me jump it._________________________________________ Old age ain't no place for sissies! sundevil777 102 #8 February 5, 2006 Are you saying that the marks to indicate the placement of the toggles are uneven? Is that all?People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

tommymc 0 #10 February 5, 2006 Thanks for the notice. I got one of the new 175's a couple days ago and double checked the control lines. They're okay. Couple things worth noting on the brake-to-toggle segments. Made of Dacron and the toggle loops are already sewn. Neet and makes for quick assembly but I hope they're long enough not to interfer with front riser control. I'll put it in the air today and find out.
