WatchYourStep 0 #1 February 4, 2006 My jumpsuit came in yesterday. It's a Pit Special. I'm looking forward to jumping it soon. I believe the legs may be a little long. Can anyone tell from the pictures? Suggestions? Thanks "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. Miami 0 #2 February 4, 2006 This is the way I've been taught to tell if booties are the right length... Put your suit on, put your rig on, kneel on the floor, point your toes, sit on your heels. If the booties are pulled tight they are the correct length, still baggy they are too long, can't sit on your heals they are too short. Not sure who I learned that from but it always seemed to work for me. Hope this helps...Miami
WatchYourStep 0 #3 February 4, 2006 Thanks for the suggestion. If that is true I'm good to go. The top part is nice and tight. Can't wait to get in the air with it on. skybeergodd 0 #4 February 4, 2006 lay belly down on the floor...get into a proper arch then point your toes....you should feel the slight pulling from your toes to your knees....get someone who knows what things should look like then judge if the booties are the right size....basically they should act like a ruddder. dqpacker 7 #5 February 4, 2006 It's too tight and it grew booties and grippers.
bliston 0 #6 February 4, 2006 Lay down flat on your stomach and put your arms straight out in front of you. When you put your legs out straight and point your toes you should feel the least bit of tension. if there is a lot of slack they're too long. Another test to do is also on your belly with your arms straight out in front of your face, try to pull your legs to your butt, like you're trying to backslide. If your motion is limited by the bootie, then the bootie is too tight. People have a tendency to make their booties too tight and end up having trouble moving backwards in freefall. Watching people struggle to move backwards in the tunnel makes this point clear. BenMass Defiance 4-wayFS website sticks!
sundevil777 102 #7 February 4, 2006 Your rig leg straps can also affect the length of the legs. Best to try the suggested tests with your rig on, I think. You really should have gotten inside leg grips.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
diablopilot 2 #8 February 4, 2006 QuotePut your suit on, put your rig on, kneel on t.... These days with tunnel flight being more and more common, the test should be done WITHOUT the rig. For me to check I'd ask the original poster for a shot standing from the waist down, front and back. If the crotch sags at all, the torso length should be fixed.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. Miami 0 #9 February 4, 2006 Good point, very true. Probably best to do it both ways, should make sure you have proper fit for flying with or without a rig on.Miami
