What part of the city are you going to be in? I assume downtown. Thats Doctor Kbords area i think, I live south in the golden ghetto area, square groomed lawns and all that jazz so a bit less "flavor" then you can get downtown. the power and light district is new and busy right now, North of you where you will fly in is the zona rosa district. It's very trendy right now with it's outdoor mall type atmosphere. KC is known for BBQ, you will want to eat at either Gates, zarda or the world famous and presidents choice Arthur Bryants BBQ. we also have herford house for steaks. Shhot me a pm for more finer details, areas to avoid and that sort of thing, but I would see if Dr Kbord is free as well. Oh an kc is home of Jimmy Coiner, midwest freefly legend!
