ACMESkydiver 0 #1 May 20, 2008 My truck is in the shop. STILL. And babies' meds need refills...so off I go to town. It was beeeeautiful all weekend, now when I gotta walk 2.2 miles into town to pick up their meds, it's freaking pouring and I don't have an umbrella! So I'm here procrastinating. -What are you avoiding by posting on DZ.com?~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #4 May 20, 2008 Quote Can you call a taxi to take you or a friend? Nah, I don't have the money to spend on a cab right now when I have capable legs. My friends are either working or across town...it would cost them a bunch to come get me, so no worries! And I really do need to work out...This will help get me going today. I might even walk back into town after I take the meds from the pharmacy to the boys' school. Hmm...nah, I'm gonna be soaked by then! I'll just come home. I've made this walk a few times before, just never in the dang rain.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Not sure if it's the same as the Irrawaddy delta, but that's the area devastated by the cyclone in Myanmar a couple weeks ago."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

NWFlyer 2 #8 May 20, 2008 You're not going to melt. I'm not avoiding anything, I'm just waiting for a former colleague to call me back. We were scheduled to talk at 10 but she's not at her desk. Ah well, she always was a bit of a flake. But she's doing me a favor, so who am I to complain. "There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Three finals this week and all three have a map portion... so many countries and rivers and cities and deserts and mountains and lakes to know that yesterday I brainlocked the states of Vermont and Minnesota completely on an extra credit map. ACMESkydiver 0 #11 May 20, 2008 Quote You're not going to melt. I didn't! And it was GREAT! So empowering to get out into the 'real world' and off of the treadmill! I loved it. -well, right up until the school called to tell me that my OTHER child had a concussion. I absolutely cannot believe it. 2 kids, 2 concussions, in 2 weeks. Ah wells...fortunately I was on my way there on foot anyhoo and only 10 minutes away. Joe took off work to come rescue little Derick and I. And the best news was that he didn't have a concussion after all (to the best that we could tell; he can't say if he's nauseated or seeing double ). Geesh...see what happens when I try to be all healthy an' stuff? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
