Spatula 0 #1 February 2, 2006 I'm trying to decide which to get, freefly pants or a suit?? I've asked around @ my DZ with the local freeflyr's and gotten a mixed response. I've decided to go with LiquidSky either way after seeing the quailty up close. Awesome stuff!!! So which would it be, any why? ?? Freefly pants or suit??? AggieDave 6 #2 February 2, 2006 QuoteSo which would it be, any why? ?? Freefly pants or suit??? Hows your fall rate? Guys like me will never be able to jump at an average fall rate wearing only FF pants and a t-shirt. Some folks will never speed up (well, they could, but it takes their control range out) to the point of being able to fly at an average fall rate in a full suit. Just like RW flying, you dress for success, wear something that allows you to fly at an average speed without having to fly at the edge or close to the edge of your control range.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." So which would it be, any why? ?? Freefly pants or suit??? You need a suit because it's much more difficult to sit-fly with more drag on your legs than arms. You need to be able to sit-fly well even if you plan on staying head-down because it gives you a stable, straight-down body position fast enough that some one over you won't run into you and die when you come out of your head-down. Spatula 0 #4 February 2, 2006 Fall rate according to others is "fast". That doesn't say much. I'm 6'1, 200lbs without gear. So 225-230 with. I don't have any audible speeds to truly know yet though.
Spatula 0 #5 February 2, 2006 I had been thinking suit but wasn't quite sure. I'm going to be in Z-hills in a couple weeks getting some freefly coaching to start me off on the right foot. I was going to ask them also, but was curious what others thought too.
marks 0 #6 February 2, 2006 you can get a two peice freefly suit from www.liquidskysports.com. you dont have to choose you can have both. if you get the two peice, you can just wear the pants when you dont need that extra top. thats what I did, got the two peice. GravityGirl 0 #7 February 2, 2006 My vote is suit for your size and experience level. The two piece is an option, but of all the two pieces I've sold, the tops end up staying in the gear bag and the customer ends up ordering a full suit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! lister55 0 #9 February 3, 2006 I will never own a one piece suit again. Like Mark said, get the two piece. I have a different top for each type of dive I am doing. I even had grippers put on my pants and tops so that everything I use is multifunctional. Also, for the video guys who also do tandems, such as myself, it is a huge time saver and I can quickly change from one type of dive to the next.
