Tenshi 0 #1 February 2, 2006 I'll be starting skydiving "soon" and I'm just gathering info. I'd like to know how long it takes, what courses you have to take and how much it costs to become a reserve packer. I wouldn't want to be a reserve packer right away and I know it's probably different in the US of A; but just to get a general idea...

JPDECHENE 0 #3 February 2, 2006 In Belgium, reserves are repacked by Riggers (senior or Master). Ther are still a few packers from the old time but their activity is limited to some types of equipment. If you are REALLY interseted in becoming a Rigger, the BPRA (Belgian Parachute Rigger Association) organizes from time to time Rigger courses. The best way for you would be to contact the Rigger delegate at the VVP. You can also contact Pierre Van Mensel hhe lives close at Berchem (Antwerp).
