happythoughts 0 #1 May 22, 2008 Amanda Shaw Saw Amanda Shaw at an open air venue last weekend. Just a kid, but she played on stage with Charlie Daniels at the age of 12. Kind of a cajun/classic/something style. On her MySpace page, the tune is her title song of the 3rd album, Pretty Runs Out. It is worth the listen. She has a quirky voice, but it definitely grabs you. So much energy when she plays the violin that it tires you out just watching. Also, The Zydepunks They are advertised as Cajun-Irish-Breton-Klesmer-Slavic-Zydeco. Pretty close. After seeing Eve play, I was thinking Slavic more. They had a decidedly Gypsy campfire style.
