SkyjunkySean 0 #1 May 27, 2008 okay so I may NOT be the right guy to say this but it really pisses me off. Yesterday I went out to our dz n saw a guy I hadn't met before opening a box with a new ( to him anyway ) canopy, a viper 105. we struck up a conversation , made small talk etc. I asked him what dz he had come from thinking he was a transplanted jumper or on vacation. He said, this is my dz. I asked have you just taken some time off? again I had never seen him artound our dz. I said oh n left it at that. a few seconds later another friend came over n asked was my rig still for sale, that the dude I was talking to was interested in it, even though he wasn't going to be able to put his new canopy in it. I asked why can't he put it in? the next words out freakin blew my mind. "he's still on student status N only has 27 jumps !!! O.K now y'all know why I'm pissed. Who in the f**k sells a small performance elliptical to a student? thats like sellin a hyabusa to a 16 year old freshly licensed kid. I mean did whomever sold this thing to this guy ask ANY questions or was he too focused on $. go figger ? just my two cents y'all
cocheese 0 #2 May 27, 2008 Yea even if the newbie is rich and skinny, he doesn't need a 105 for quite some time. The money the seller got from the sale is tainted with bad karma. It will buy some justice you'll see.Don't worry about the student. He has a canopy to sell and only someone smarter than him will buy it.
JohnMitchell 16 #3 May 27, 2008 Don't worry, I'm sure he plans to be really careful for the first couple of jumps and stuff. Is there a DZO at this place that can counsel both the seller and the purchaser in this transaction? At our DZ, something like this would not be allowed to happen, I think (hope). The DZO's try to keep an eye on what the newbies are jumping.
SkyjunkySean 0 #4 May 27, 2008 yeah our dzo already told him he wont be jumping it on his dz in NOT so polite terms. apparently the dude asked NO questions when he began looking for his first rig....beyond me man I asked so many questions when lookin for my first set of gear people were gettin tired of hearing me . jk everyone was really good about helping.which is why this confused me about this dude. oh well hope he dont learn the hard way
