Temple, TX

Recommended Posts

I've got a friend that just moved to Temple.
She says there is nothing to do out there.

I'm looking for stuff for her to do. She's not big into the bar scene.
She was also looking for a good park to bring her dog to, she says one is a campground and the other is closed.

Any ideas?

Have ya ever been to Temple?!?!?
She's right.
There's two small lakes (of which one goes into Ft. Hood), "A" golf course, "A" country club, "A" University... you get the idea. Now might be a good time to look at furthering education or getting an extra job and socking the money away. There's nuthin I tells ya, nothing.

I know that SD Temple is actually in Salado, but come on, its a cool DZ with neat people. She should check them out. Beyond that, well, there is a really nice VW Bug-In there every year...and there's a US Cav in the area for some decent deals on BDUs and the like.:P

It's about 8 miles long up either channel depending on how much rain occurred for the year.
It happens to the best of us as we get older, Chuck. :D

Skydive Temple :-)

Belton has 4-5 nice parks about 5 miles south, and there are multiple parks around Stillhouse and Belton lakes.

The town of Salado about 15 miles south is a great little tourist town with lots of cool shops.

You ever been to franks anchor club in belton? Has a deck that looks over belton lake, cool place to go to at night. Except that they have hella racoons on the deck that growl at you. Also waco isn't terribly far away, plenty of parks and places to hit up there.

I was pretty sure there was something skydiving related to Temple, that's why I asked here. But I don't think she'd be to big on jumping out of a plane, I may be wrong.

I'll pass some of that on, thanks. Anything else?

There's a tattoo shop on Avenue D in Killeen.
Tell her to stay away from any soldiers with a pony patch or stories of being 1st Cav heros. :D
