kbordson 8 #2 May 28, 2008 Of the main "medical terms" that it mentioned - I've heard of: "Peek and Shriek" when we were doing surgery on someone that had markedly advanced ovarian cancer.... that disease gets to a point where you can't remove it all and if you try, you know you will be injuring the bowel... so you typically just close back up. Slow Code - but never did a slow code.... just read about it in "House of God" Never heard of that variation for OB/Gyn. (dead when I got there) or is things are going down hill and you don't want to alarm the patient or family...Tell your partner the patient staus is PUHA...Pronounced PooHa(Pick Up and Haul Ass).....just a couple special acronyms I use.
