SARLDO 0 #1 May 28, 2008 Today in Orlando, I bought a house A sweet deal on way too much house for my needs. It really is a great time to buy if you can get a mortgage. Soon, I'll be prowling the local DZ's looking for a place to call home (not to mention finally geting into a tunnel). BTW, Anybody know a good pool cleaning company in Orlando?"Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #
jcd11235 0 #2 May 29, 2008 Congratulations on your new home. I hope you enjoy Orlando more than I have (It's a pretty big city; most residents probably like it more than I do). Sorry, I can't help you with the pool cleaning company.Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Where at in Florida? Keep in mind that a lot of people really like Florida. I'm not one of them, but that doesn't mean you won't be. There are certainly things about Florida that I like. It's not all bad. However, after living here for several years, the things that I don't like seem more annoying than ever.Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! normiss 898 #10 May 29, 2008 When is the house warming party? Car pool to the dz on Saturdays at 6 am???? Isn't it cheaper to maintain a pool yourself? I've done a good job with pools in the past (just ask...)...get your water checked for free at Pinch A Penny pool supply and buy an automatic cleaner....what else do you need? skymama 37 #11 May 29, 2008 My Dad just let me know that he bought a salt-water system for the pool in the new house I'm buying. He wants to learn more about them, so he's using me. I don't mind getting the benefit of it, but damn...I didn't even have a choice! mamajumps 0 #13 May 29, 2008 I have lived in Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Indiana, & Ohio. Florida is by far my favorite. I love the warm climate (I seriously despise being cold). The worst part of Florida, IMHO is the snow-bird season. Nothing worse than thousands of old people, who are for the majority too old to drive clogging up the roads and causing accidents. And most of them act like we owe them favors...

SARLDO 0 #16 May 30, 2008 It will be cheaper to maintain myself once I can see the bottom and the pump is running again. I need to head back to Virgina and pack up the house there, be planting roots in FL in mid-june. It would be nice to pull into the driveway and head straight for the pool. Spent the whole day today cleaning up after the folks who lost the house to their bank. It wasn't too bad but man, I could never leave a house without at least cleaning it up first. Now I will always remember those folks as slobs. House-warming party July 4th weekend. "Always do right. I worked at Home Depot when I was pregnant with my now 6 yro and you could always tell the snow birds, they were just down right nasty for no good reason. All I can say is when I am that old, if I am financially well off enough to have two homes and travel and spend 6 months at each, the last thing I will have is a nasty attitude. iluvtofly 0 #20 May 30, 2008 It's really funny...with my job I'm around the elderly alot. 98% are in nursing homes (which by the way I have vowed that if I live long enough that I have to be put in a nursing home I'm just going to shoot myself in the head instead )...but it's funny just how many of them tell me, "Do yourself a favor, don't get old!"
