Big old bumparoo.

Game three of the finals tonight was just SICK. I tend to be a Wings fan at heart, but the Penguins BROUGHT IT tonight.

The third period was just awesome!

Last night's game was a real nail-biter but, I'm getting sick from all the damned hype about Crosby. Sure, he finally, scored a couple goals and finally did 'something' but, the kid ain't a one-man team! Those dumb-ass announcers reminded me of the announcers during the Indy-500. Every other word outa their mouths was 'Danica Patrick'! How did she do? A big DNF! I would love to watch a game or race without all the hype-ing about one player or driver. Back to the topic... the Wings - Pens series is really getting some fire to it and there's some good ol' hockey being played!

well Crosby did lead in points for the 06-07 season at the tender age of 19. Had he played all 82 games he probably would have beat out Ovechkin as points leader this season. Heck!! He can't even drink legally in the US and he's in the Stanley Cup finals. Can you blame them for being a bit enamored with the boy?

Pffft......the only thing they "brought" was an ability to capitalize on the turnovers the Wings made. :)
Although it's okay.....now we win the Cup at home, and that's how it should be.

This 'Crosby love-fest' by the media is getting to be a little 'much'. Just like the announcers for the Indy-500. every other word out of their mouths was 'Danica Patrick'! Good Lord... there were 32 other drivers in that race and two of them were women. A total of 3-women drivers. Very little was said about them. In NASCAR, it's nothing but Kyle Busch. There are other very good athletes worthy of mention but, the media gets hold of one and turns them into little gods. Granted, Crosby is a good hockey player but... is he THAT good? Gimme a break! Crosby is just Gary Bettman's 'pet boy'.

The Wings looked a little confused or something for about half of the first period but after that, it was just good hockey on both sides. At least the Pens left the 'cheap shots' in the locker room and we didn't hear so much whinin' out of them. It will be good, to see the Wings raise the cup on home ice!B|

Agreed. I love to see someone deal out a ferocious hit, as long as it's legal........but punching a guy (who's just come off the injured list for concussion-like symptoms) in the head every five minutes doesn't show a lot of class.

That 3rd period was great hockey.

Then, there was Gill's hit on Holmstrom! Whst'd with that? They were winning! I don't mind a good, clean either but, like you said, that hit on Franzen was just wrong. Franzen's response was; "How could he miss it? I have a big head!" The Wings, seem to have a knack for signing good players who don't whine. All this hype about Crosby and what he did in the regular season, all goes out the window at 'play-off' time. This, is the 'real' season. I'm looking forward to tomorrow nights game.
One other thing. I don't know if, it's my t.v. or NBC's sound. It seemed to me that the announcers voices faded in and out to the point I couldn't hear the stupid things they were saying. Anyone else notice that?

I think, the Wings better wear their extra, heavy-duty cups tomorrow night! The Pens 'goon squad' will be out there sluggin'! What amazes me is... Osgood. that guy has been fantastic. Dominic 'Has-been' was supposed to be the 'go to' goalie when the Wings first started the play-offs. He lost the first two games and Babcock went to Ozzie. Ozzie won 9-straight, lost one, won last night with 2-shut-outs against Pittsburgh! After watching Hasek during the regular season, Babcock made the right choice for the play-offs. Mike Babcock said at one point during the play-offs; "This is the best team I have ever coached!" That's the damned truth!

The Pens HAD to win Saturday to have a chance. There is no way they will take 3 of 3 against the Wings machine. I predict it is all over in Game 5.

Osgood is a fine goaltender .... and the team in front of him makes him a lot better still.

I think, tonight's game is going to be a real nail-biter and for lack of a better word... UGLY! I just imagine, the Pens are going to turn their 'hit-men' loose tonight and try to physically, beat-down the Wings. They've tried everything else. They are out of options. Why else would they have guys like Roberts and Gill, to name a few. I do believe, the Wings will prevail and Homer will be 'pimp-walkin' ' the Cup outa' the Joe. The Pens just aren't ready to be champs. Crosby and their coach have a lot of maturing to do. JMO

Chuck,

They will have to tread an extremely fine line if they decide to get physical. Taking penalties against the Wings isn't a great way to beat them imo. I think the young guns have to show their stuff if they want to win and Marc Andre Fleury can't give up goals like the Wings game-winner on Saturday.

That's a true story. You just never know, what a 'desperate' team will do when they're on the brink of elimination. that'd be the pits if, they got called for penalties they have been complaining of the Wings commiting!:D The 'young guns', I don't feel, have the proper leadership to get them going. Crosby is no leader by any stretch. He's just too young. The Wings have too many players who have Cup rings and they are good leaders to those who are 'wanting' a Cup ring. I'm sure going to be watching this game.

On the topic of leadership...out of all the new young talent in the league I think that Alexander Ovechkin is the one with the most potential to become a Mark Messier type leader. He has unbelievable skill, loves to bang and has the size (6'2", 217lbs) to do it. He's a guy that can tell a team to get on his shoulders and inspire the others to up their game. imo

Crosby is also unbelievable skilled but I don't think he has that leadership quality...or if he will ever have it.

I have really got to agree with you about Ovechkin! That guy led the league, all season long, in goal scoring. Better than anyone at scoring and the guy barely gets mentioned. Crosby, on the other hand, gets shoved down our throats. I think, the kid could do better with a little less pressure. Steve Yzerman was a captain for the Wings at 21 and held that position for 19-yrs. We heard very little about him unless, it was during a game. These announcers and sportscasters get to hyping a player and they are like pit-bulls! They need to start giving credit when it's due.

Spoke too soon... huh?:D This is play-off hockey, man! As long as there's time on the clock, anything can happen.
What is with these refs? 2-lousy calls on Detroit that shouldn't have been called. I guess, that's because Pitts. coach has been whinin' about interference by Detroit. I've been watching Pitt., do it all night and not get called.
These mindless NBC announcers make me wanna throw a brick at my t.v.!
I need to chill!:D I love it! This is good stuff! Nerve-wracking but GOOD!
