ACMESkydiver 0 #1 June 5, 2008 Joe and I always do REALLY cool stuff for our anniversary or our birthdays every year. His birthday is June 13th... He loves UFC (already tried to get tix at Emerald Queen casino; we can't we have a commitment that weekend ). He loves poker. He likes scuba diving (but will only do it in warm water; he's a wuss! We love Las Vegas, but don't have that much money this year... I'm looking at spending about $125 or so. He likes gadgets...but already has a cool IPod and we already have super fancy-pants digital cameras. Lately we're more into adventures than stuff...we really dig time away for just the two of us. He does NOT like camping (he said we did enough of that shit in the army! ). -Maybe the Casinos up north have a less expensive hotel room attached and we could get away on a Saturday? Hmmm.... Oh and he hates flying (always said getting out of the damn plane was his favorite part) so no scenic flights. And no skyjumping. We're both out of currency and Joe is the last person on earth that would ever do a tandem. Ideas? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. NWFlyer 2 #2 June 5, 2008 Ask Valinda where she and John went for their anniversary. Don't know how much it cost but it looked really cute and romantic."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke

vskydiver 0 #4 June 6, 2008 OK, here is where we went http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-10406197-wellspring_spa_at_mt_rainier-i and I must say it was absolutely wonderful! We got a gift certificate from a friend and that is how we ended up there but even if I had to pay for it I'd do it. It was beyond romantic. I've attached a few pictures I took while we were there. The cabin came with a kitchenette so we had a beautiful private dinner with a bottle of wine we'd saved from our trip to Italy. The jacuzzi tube in the bathroom was really nice too! I can't show you the pictures from that fun. The bed is a sink and sigh feather bed. and it was really cozy with the fire going! There were wonderful trails to hike and explore and if you really want to hike, Mt Ranier is just up the road. We didn't stray too far though.
JohnMitchell 16 #5 June 6, 2008 Check the website for the cabin rates. They have them starting at around $100+, I think. They have nice little kitchens and no restaurants around, so take some groceries and cook up a little romantic dinner for two. Pretty easy on the budget that way, too. No cable, no internet, no cell phone reception. Not a bad way to get away.
ACMESkydiver 0 #6 June 6, 2008 That's looks incredible!!! Wow, I could book that, and we'd have a birthday present/anniversary getaway all together. Our 14th anniversary is July 2nd, but Joe's brother is flying in for a week and we won't be able to do anything then. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. vskydiver 0 #7 June 7, 2008 Wow! Your 14th anniversary is July 2nd and our 24th anniversary was June 2nd. We're a month behind you and your 10 years behind us. I forgot to tell you that you should bring some bubble bath for the jacuzzi and a book to read before dinner while you sip your wine.
RkyMtnHigh 0 #8 June 7, 2008 Those are awesome pics! I hope to visit there some day _________________________________________
ACMESkydiver 0 #9 June 7, 2008 Man that looks nice...I'm still tossing up the casino/hotel/hot time on the city vs. sneaking off into the country. We could go for either. I'd really want to go find a trail and hike around if we go for a country trip...so I'm thinking maybe August to avoid the rain. -Now I just have to find a reason to take off in August. No birthdays...no holidays...A-HA!! We can just celebrate August! Since I missed MMA at the Emerald Queen, I found a boxing tourny that we could catch at the same venue. I'm not into boxing at all, but Joe likes that kind of stuff...so I'm thinking that might substitute for this one night trip. That cabin looks like a 2-nighter and a trip to Lover's Package. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
